Willmar, MN – The Willmar Area Community Foundation (WACF) invites the community to join their 20th Anniversary and Awards in Philanthropy celebration on Thursday, October 11th, at 5:30pm at the Willmar Conference Center. This year WACF will recognize their Founding Board of Directors with the 2018 Award in Philanthropy for increasing community philanthropy to benefit Kandiyohi County communities. The 2018 Community Builder Award will be given to Marcus Construction for its extensive support to our community vitality through corporate support, partnerships, and employee engagement. In addition, WACF will honor Chad and Angie Koosman for “Celebrate the Light of the World” with the second Innovative Impact Award noting their dedication and creativity in raising awareness and donations in the local Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. The Marv Otto Award will be given to the late Dorothy Timm Meili to honor her charitable legacy.

The evening will include remembrance of impactful moments and projects in the last 20 years via the Willmar Area Community Foundation while sharing the exhilarating plans the Foundation is excited to springboard in the coming years. The celebration illustrates that there truly is ‘no place like home’, including featuring local products of Jennie-O Turkey Store entrées, Mr. B’s chocolate tastings and Glacial Ridge Winery highlighted cocktails.
