Three Recipients to be Honored
Willmar, Minn. – The Willmar Area Community Foundation invites the community to its annual Award in Philanthropy Celebration on Thursday, October 6, 2016.
The Award in Philanthropy Celebration will honor three local recipients who have embodied the spirit of building community through their generous acts. John and Mary Lindstrom will be awarded the 2016 Award in Philanthropy, which recognizes the couple’s significant contributions to local organizations through their charitable giving and volunteer service. Heritage Bank will be recognized with the 2016 Community Builder Award to acknowledge their impactful contributions and numerous volunteer hours their employees have donated throughout the local community. The 2016 Marv Otto Award will be posthumously bestowed on Jerry Anderson for the estate gifts he left to several local non-profit organizations. In addition, attendees will select one local non-profit to receive a $1,000 grant for their Grantee Showcase Video premiering that evening.
The Celebration will be held at the Willmar Conference Center and will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a Social Hour followed by the Dinner and Awards Program. Following the Program, the Foundation and its honorees will host an Afterglow Reception with Mr. B’s Chocolates and specialty cocktails. Tickets are $60 per person and must be reserved by September 29, 2016 by registering online at www.communitygiving.org/events.
