Willmar, Minn. – An Anonymous Fund of the Willmar Area Community Foundation (WACF) donates $40,000 to Bethesda, a non-profit organization caring for seniors in West Central Minnesota. “This generous donation was made by longtime supporters of the WACF who wished to remain anonymous,” said Sara Carlson, Executive Director of the WACF. “They see the urgent need to support a future of robust senior care options in our community. Bethesda’s senior housing campuses support the aging population in Kandiyohi County, which has seen a significant increase in the number of individuals aged 75-84.”
Having a fund at WACF means donors can get connected easily to needs in the community that match their interests and passions. Since 2000, Bethesda and its Foundation have received a total of $174,600 from WACF grants and donations from our fund holders, including this recent $40,000 donation. Carlson said, “Making sure we have strong senior care and a continuum of senior care housing options is important. How well a community takes care of its elderly residents reflects its values. Via our donors, WACF is pleased to invest in the health and wellness of its community, specifically supporting productive aging with Bethesda’s comprehensive campus and a full continuum of care.”
Individual gifts to support the Bethesda Foundation can be made via their website.
