Virginia Community Foundation Joins CommunityGiving

Virginia, Minn. – The Virginia Community Foundation (VCF) Board of Directors and CommunityGiving (CG) are pleased to announce that the VCF will be joining CG as a partner foundation. CommunityGiving is a philanthropic support organization working with 16 community foundations. Combined, these partners provided more than $18 million in grants through more than 1,200 funds with assets nearing $240 million.

By merging their expertise with our strong dedication to the Virginia community, we are confident that our local foundation will hit new milestones and make an even greater impact in our community.”

The Virginia Community Foundation was established in 1991 and serves the greater Virginia area. Currently, the VCF has 12 active funds totaling over $5 million in assets.

Steve Joul, President/CEO of CommunityGiving, stated, “We look forward to working with their board and communities to help the community of Virginia continue to grow. Together, we’ll find new ways to support donors and strengthen the local impact of the VCF.”

The Virginia Community Foundation officially joined CommunityGiving as of July 18, 2024, and is working to complete the transition by December 31, 2024. VCF will still retain its commitment to local grantmaking and will maintain its presence on Chestnut Street. You will notice the rebranding of our logo on social channels and a new website in the coming months.

Virginia Community Foundation is based in Virginia, Minnesota. They currently have 12 funds including 4 scholarship funds totaling over $5 million and typically provide over $100,000 in grants and scholarships annually. Their mission is to build resources to fund projects that enhance life in our city.
