Two Local Students Receive Scholarships from the Community Foundation for Carver County

Carver County, Minn. – The Community Foundation for Carver County (CFCC), in conjunction with CommunityGiving, is pleased to announce the scholarship recipients of the Alexis Kretsch Memorial Scholarship Fund for this 2025-2026 school year. 

Katelyn Armstrong and Carter Olson, both from Waconia High School, each received $750 from the Alexis Kretsch Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Jessica Klaustermeier, Board Chair of the CFCC shared that, “Alexis Kretsch, a Waconia High School student, is remembered through this scholarship fund that carries her legacy forward. By opening doors for students to learn and achieve, this fund is a powerful reminder of how one life can continue to make a difference. We are profoundly thankful to the donors who make it possible.”

A total of 134 scholarships to 357 students were awarded across the region, benefiting students in Carver County and the surrounding area. These scholarships were established by individuals, families and businesses to support area students in their educational pursuits.

The Community Foundation for Carver County (CFCC) attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local community. Since 2004, the CFCC has grown to over $1.1 million in assets and awarded over $600,000 in grants to non-profits. The CFCC is governed by a local board of directors and is a partner of CommunityGiving, which is a network of community foundations united under a single framework to create efficiencies that maximize the impact of our donors.  Collectively, CommunityGiving administers over 1,300 funds totaling over $283 million.
