State of The Lakes Area Event Scheduled For Seasonal Residents

Brainerd, Minn. – The Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation (BLACF) is sponsoring The State of The Lakes Area on June 11, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Grand View Lodge’s new North Boutique Hotel in Nisswa, MN. This event is for seasonal residents to hear from several key organizations first-hand about what’s happening in the Brainerd Lakes Area. 

The event will be free but advance registration is requested as seating is limited, so please register early. A lunch buffet is available for an additional charge.  Local leaders from key organizations presenting on topics affecting our quality of life will include: GCOLA on the health of area lakes and waterways; Brainerd Lakes Area Economic Development Corporation on business growth and development; Brainerd Public Schools on school upgrades and a new performing arts center; Essentia Health System on available healthcare services;  Lakes Area Music Festival (LAMF) will perform and provide details about the upcoming summer concert series; Grand View Lodge will provide an overview on the resort’s development plans and Karl Samp from BLACF will share information on charitable funds, giving strategies and how BLACF is strengthening our community, especially around Gull Lake. Tours of Grand View Lodge will be offered after LAMF performs and lunch is served.
