It is the intention of this fund to support students who may have encountered barriers to pay for their own education. “I had to earn money for my own schooling, and I know what a hardship this was,” stated Mr. Adams. This scholarship is intended to support: 1st generation college, BiPOC, Refugee and/or new Immigrants, and those with a persistent affordability gap.

Current Senior at Willmar High School or Willmar ALC
GPA: 2.0 or higher
Planning to attend: Two or four year US-based college in any major (full-time enrollment)

- Electronic Transcript:
High School Students – Provide Guidance Counselor’s (GC) e-mail address. GC will be asked to upload your official transcript.
- May: Recipients will be notified via email in early May.
- June 15: Recipients must sign their scholarship agreement and provide college information. CommunityGiving will verify that you are enrolled as a full-time student at the college.(Full-time enrollment is typically 12-16 credits)
- June: Inform your college that you have received the scholarship.
- September 1: Generally, full payment will arrive at your college unless otherwise notified.
