Grant applications are due June 30th
Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) is announcing to area nonprofits in the Douglas County region that a grant application period begins on Friday, May 1st. Grant applications should be significant grants that will be the “difference maker” in bringing about a lasting, positive change in the Alexandria area community. Thanks in large part to a grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation and raising local support, AACF plans to award grants between $10,000 and $30,000. Local nonprofit organizations need to submit their applications online by midnight on June 30.
AACF started the Difference Maker Grant program two years ago to provide leadership financial support and make a connection that goes beyond the grant in order to advance the project or initiative. The Difference Maker Grant Program focuses on five key areas: education (especially K-12 and after-school programs), social services that strengthen families, children and youth, health (education, physical and mental health and reducing violence), arts and culture and civic activities that build, promote and preserve communities.
Grant applicants must be 501(c) 3 nonprofit organizations, schools or government entities and serve residents within Douglas County. More information about the grant guidelines and electronic application can be found by visiting www.AlexandriaFoundation.org and clicking on the “AACF Grants” link.
