Local Students Awarded $5,000 in Scholarships through the Alexandria Area Community Foundation

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF), in conjunction with CommunityGiving, is pleased to announce the scholarship recipients of the Thomas J. Reif Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Tommy and Alla Solberg Endowment Fund for this 2022-2023 school year. 

Dayton Downing of Alexandria was the recipient of $1,000 from the Thomas J. Reif Memorial Scholarship Fund. Benjamin Borden of Alexandria was the recipient of $4,000 from the Tommy and Alla Solberg Endowment Fund.
 
CommunityGiving administers 134 separate scholarship funds, some of which serve the Alexandria area and the surrounding area schools. These scholarships were established by individuals, families and businesses to support area students in their educational pursuits.
 
“Scholarships convey a message to the students that there are people in our community who want to see them achieve their dreams and succeed”, said A.J. Koewler, Executive Director of the AACF. “These donors understand the importance of education and know that providing financial support is so important.”
 
The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local Alexandria area.
