Brainerd, Minn. – Fueled by a passion for community with a special focus on children and families, economic development and environment preservation, Jim and Linnea Anderson have been selected as the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation’s 2016 Award in Philanthropy recipients.
Each year, the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation celebrates the generosity of the community and recognizes individuals who have fostered passion and vision for philanthropy in the Lakes Area through its Annual Award in Philanthropy.
Jim and Linnea Anderson are the owners of Anderson Brothers Construction. Jim’s father and uncle started the company in 1940. Jim has been very involved in the community and was the president of the Brainerd Chamber of Commerce, and served on many area boards including the Central Minnesota Boy Scouts, St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Bremer Bank and St. Cloud State University Foundation.
Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation Executive Director, Karl Samp, states, “Jim and Linnea epitomize what it means to give back to your community. Their quiet generosity to numerous charities and causes in the greater Brainerd Lakes area have impacted many organizations and the people served by them.”

The Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation (BLACF), in affiliation with CommunityGiving, is a public charity that attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local community.
