Brief Description

The purpose of the Fund for the Arts program is to support small and medium-sized arts organizations in the Willmar area. The fund also supports arts activities conducted by community organizations. The Fund for the Arts is an important resource for both new and existing arts organizations. It allows depth and diversity of the arts in Willmar and makes the arts more accessible to area residents. A Grants Committee assists in administering the Fund for the Arts program and advises the Foundation on the disbursement of fund from the Fund for the Arts.

What we fund:

  • Capital projects
  • New or expanded programs/projects
  • Other strategic Investments that will have a lasting impact

Eligible organizations: 501(c) 3 nonprofit Organizations, schools or government entities.

Geographic Area: Within the city of Willmar in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota

Focus Areas:

Arts - Grants will be made to support activities that generate an appreciation for the Arts

What We Don't Fund:

  • Individuals
  • Religious organizations for religious purposes
  • Political organizations or political campaigns.
  • Annual fundraising drives
  • Endowments
  • Debt retirement or deficit financing
  • Projects that have already been completed
  • Scholarships or medical research
  • Grants for travel or Conferences

Process:

Submit application online using the CommunityGiving Grant Management System.

The Grant Advisory Committee will recommend applications for funding to the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors will make final funding decisions.

Organizations may only submit one grant application per year.

All notification about this grant will be through emails.

Payout of Grants: upon recipient of electronically signed Grant Agreement.

Grantee Required Documents: Grant Agreement, Progress Report, Final Report. Required Follow up document will be submitted through the CommunityGiving Grant Management System.
