Grant Writing Workshop Offered March 17th in St. Cloud

St. Cloud, MN-The Central Minnesota Community Foundation in partnership with St. Cloud State University is offering a grant writing workshop, “Taking the Mystery out of Grant Writing!” on Thursday March 17th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the St Cloud State University “WELCOME CENTER”  located at 355 5th Ave. S., St. Cloud.  Well-known presenter, Karl Samp, will share his grant writing knowledge from his many years of experience in fundraising, strategic planning, group facilitation, and grants management. He is currently the executive director for the Brainered Lakes Area Community Foundation and  a consultant for nonprofit groups and funding organizations throughout the state of Minnesota.
Overview
Grant writing is about aligning your organization’s mission and project, with the mission and focus areas of a prospective funding agency. This workshop will guide you through the process and provide you with the information and tools that you need to understand the essentials of grant writing. *Be sure to bring a grant writing project you are considering to get real hands on experience and start you on your way!!
Expectations
Grant proposal writing does not have to be a mystery! In this workshop you will learn:
How foundations and grantmakers operate
How to find the most likely grant makers for your projects
What needs to be included in a grant application
How to put your project budget together
How to review and evaluate proposal copy
Who Should Attend?
Do you have limited experience in funder research and grant proposal writing? Do you need a refresher course in the basics of grant writing? If so, this workshop is for you!  Executive directors, board and staff members working in nonprofit or government organizations will also benefit from this information packed workshop!
