The Petrikat Fund for Dogs is pleased to award a grant of $1,500 to the Canine Connection-Brainerd Kennel Club. The Petrikat Fund for Dogs is a designated fund held by the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation (BLACF).
The newly-created Canine Connection- Brainerd Kennel Club is a dog gym committed to strengthening the human-canine bond. It enlarges traditional approaches to include an emphasis on mental wellness for canine and human. Their expert-led dog training, fitness programs, and enrichment activities help dogs and their people thrive physically, emotionally, and socially. With positive reinforcement, puppy training, behavior solutions, mental wellness support, and rescue initiatives, they foster joyful, lifelong partnerships.
The Petrikat Fund for Dogs was created from a memorial gift left by Peter Petrikat. Peter and his dog, Trigger, died in a tragic car accident in 2001. He loved his dogs, his dog organization, and his community. This fund will continue Peter’s legacy by supporting local dog-focused endeavors with annual grants.
Since 1998, the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation has been helping passionate people make a difference in the lives of others and their community. By giving through the Community Foundation with an individual, business, general interest, or scholarship fund, donors multiply their giving impact. Donors support the causes they care most about today, while helping grow community funds to meet the needs of the community tomorrow. Together, the Community Foundation and fund partners have awarded over $12 million in grants, addressing community needs and growing opportunities. Please join us in creating impactful and lasting change, ensuring that our community thrives for generations to come. We are proud to partner with a collaborative network through CommunityGiving to maximize impact for donors and communities through lowered shared costs and increased efficiencies.
