St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation announced that two grant rounds are now accepting grant applications to benefit women and young girls in the community. The first grant opportunity is from the Women’s Fund of Central Minnesota Community Foundation. The Women’s Fund is now accepting applications for their annual grant round. Online applications must be completed by midnight on September 30th, 2017 and can be found at www.communitygiving.org/grants. The Women’s Fund provides funding to projects and programs that focus on the following three areas:
- Girls age 10-18
- Women in transition
- Elder women
Programs or projects must be within 30 mile radius of St. Cloud and must be a program/project of a non-profit agency. The average grant size will be between $3,000-$8,000. Previous grants awarded from the Women’s Fund included $7,126 to Helping Hands Outreach for their active aging programming, $5,000 to Domus Transitional Housing program at Catholic Charities, $2,225 to the Village Family Service Center for their Girls 360 Group that focuses on self confidence and self esteem.
The second grant opportunity is from Julianne Williams Fund. The Julianne Williams Fund was established to honor the life of Julianne Marie Williams, reflect the essence of Julianne and promotes the building of self-esteem, safety, confidence and overall empowerment of girls and young woman through outdoor activities. Online applications will be accepted until midnight on September 30th, 2017 and can also be found at www.communitygiving.org/grants.
The Women’s Fund granted out $45,000 last year and the Julianne Williams Fund granted out $12,000.
Since 2002, the Women’s Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation has been dedicated to strengthening the community by improving the lives of women and girls. The Women’s Fund has granted over $1.1 million to support local programs in three core focus areas: girls age 10-18, women in transition and elder women.
