For more than 55 years, our mission at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota has been to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. That means not only are we pairing kids with a mentor who will help them work through challenges they are facing – and be a friend they can lean on – we’re also supporting that mentor/mentee relationship every step of the way. Along with having someone to support them and guide them through all of life’s ups and downs, being a part of BBBS also has positive outcomes for our kids. Kids in our program experience improved educational expectations and success, family connectedness, depressive symptoms, and sense of responsibility – which all make for more engaged community members as they continue to grow.
BBBS of Central Minnesota is an award-winning program at the local and national levels. We received an I-Award from the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation for our innovative approach to mentorship with its BIG Partners initiative with Granite Companies and ISD742 and a Growth Award at the national conference for increasing the number of youth served year over year. We are committed to serving kids from across Central Minnesota, and appreciate the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners to help us defend the potential of kids and of the future of our community!
