Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) was proud to honor the recipients of this year’s Ruth McDonald Awards in Philanthropy: Jim & Anne Eidsvold and David & Loni Kjos (pictured below). These two couples were celebrated at the AACF’s Annual Celebration of Philanthropy Social, held on Monday, September 29 at Carlos Creek Winery.
The event was a sell-out, with standing ovations for the awardees and overwhelming community support.
The Alexandria Area Community Foundation extends sincere gratitude to all sponsors who helped make this special evening possible, including our platinum-level sponsor, Bremer Bank, a division of Old National Bank.
Jim & Anne Eidsvold
When Jim and Anne Eidsvold moved with Henry’s Foods Inc. to Alexandria in 1990, they brought more than just a thriving family business—they brought a deep spirit of community. Over the decades, they’ve supported local causes both through their company and personally, always leading by example.
Though Jim retired in 2018, their legacy of giving is far from over. Jim and Anne continue to serve on nonprofit boards, with a special passion for the Legacy of the Lakes Museum and remain steadfast supporters of the community they call home.
David & Loni Kjos
David and Loni Kjos have significantly shaped the Alexandria area through their generosity and leadership. From supporting countless nonprofits to rolling up their sleeves as volunteers, their impact is felt in every corner of the community.
David’s career in banking, culminating as President of Bremer Bank Alexandria, gave him a unique perspective on the importance of investing in people and places. Together, he and Loni have championed causes close to their hearts—always with warmth, positivity, and an unwavering commitment to making Alexandria a better place for all.
