Fund Established: December 31, 1998
Community Foundation(s): Central Minnesota
The Miller family name is well-known in the St. Cloud area, whether you recognize it on a construction company, a funeral home or the resource learning center at St. Cloud State University. Their success in business has led to great generosity in the community.
Marion and Jim Miller established a donor advised fund at the Central Minnesota Community Foundation in 1998. They like to make stock transfers to the fund and then use it throughout the year for a long list of charities they support. GIving brings them great pleasure and sometimes, it’s the smaller gifts which particularly delight them.
One of those gifts was the scholarship for the “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families” seminar conducted by ROCORI schools and staff members, Terry Sparby and Craig Lieser, for Central Minnesota parents. More than 70 notes of thanks told the Millers how they had helped change lives through this simple scholarship.
