Patt Adair, born in St. Paul, attended her first two years of college at St. Cloud State University before receiving a bachelor’s from Metropolitan State University. She started her corrections career in 1977 at the Women’s Prison in Shakopee. She became warden of The Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, an adult male close custody facility, in October 1995.

Over the years, Adair has been active in several professional organizations, including president of the Minnesota Corrections Association and the Minnesota Association of Women in Justice. She currently serves as an auditor for the American Corrections Association, serves on the board of directors for the United Way and is active in the Forum of Executive Women.

The Women’s Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation honored Patt Adair with the ATHENA Award in 2008 for her exceptional leadership and professional achievements.
