CommunityGiving to Host Training and Education for Community Foundations

St.Cloud, Minn. – CommunityGiving (CG) will be hosting “CommunityGiving Day” on Wednesday November 15th.  This event will provide training and education geared towards developing community foundations and is designed for board members, volunteers and anyone with a passion for community based philanthropy.  CG Day will be held at Bug-Bee Hive Resort in Paynesville, MN and is free of charge to all CG and affiliate foundation members and $79 per person for other interested individuals. The highlight of the day will be the two keynote speakers; Michael Batchelor, president of the Erie Community Foundation in Erie, PA and Dr. Kathy Annette, president and CEO of the Blandin Foundation in Grand Rapids, MN.

Michael  Batchelor is the president of the Erie Community Foundation in Erie, PA.  Under his management since 1990, assets grew from $20 to $250 million; placing ECF within the top 6% of  community foundations nationwide. Michael has on-site consulting  experience with over 50 community foundations and has been active in state and national field governance.

Dr. Kathy Annette

Dr. Kathy Annette is the president and CEO of the Blandin Foundation.  The Blandin Foundation is all about Minnesotans imagining, leading, and growing healthy, inclusive – vibrant – communities. She is the first woman in the Minnesota Ojibwe Nation to become a physician. Kathy serves on several boards and is the recipient of numerous national awards for her passionate  leadership and commitment to  improving communities across the country.
