St. Cloud, Minn.— CommunityGiving announced today the election of two new members to their board of directors. The two new members are Laura Helmer and Steve Laraway. Laura is active on a number of non-profit boards including serving as the President of the League of Women Voters of Minnesota, board chair for Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative and is the current vice chair of the Community Foundation for Carver County which is the newest partner foundation of CommunityGiving. Steve Laraway is the President and CEO of Laraway Financial Advisors Inc. and is past board chair of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation. He is active in the St. Cloud community serving on the boards of the CentraCare Health System and the Boys Scouts of America Central Minnesota Council. Steve is also on the St. Cloud City Council serving as council member for Ward 2. (Photos below of new board members)
The board also approved the election of Bruce Pohlig to serve as Chair, John Herges to serve as Vice Chair, James Ringwald to serve as Treasurer and Terri Barreiro to serve as Secretary.
Current board members Terri Barreiro, Sonja Merrild and Bob Sweeney were all re-elected to serve a second three-year term.
The CommunityGiving Board of Directors is the policy making body for CommunityGiving and supports all of the partner foundations including Alexandria, Brainerd, Carver County, Central Minnesota (Greater St. Cloud) and Willmar. It is also held responsible for all legal, financial, administrative, grantmaking, community service and fundraising activities of all partner foundations.
