St. Cloud, Minn. –  CommunityGiving is pleased to announce Dominic Papatola will be joining the team as its first-ever Chief Impact Officer. Papatola will begin in his new role in mid-September.

“CommunityGiving is transforming the conversation about philanthropy, and about how communities can be the best version of themselves,” Papatola said. “It’s an exhilarating vision, and I’m delighted and humbled to be part of it.”

Before joining the CommunityGiving team, Papatola spent 14 years on the program staff of the Otto Bremer Trust in St.Paul, most recently as a Regional Director. He’s worked with communities and nonprofits across Minnesota and North Dakota and last year oversaw programming that facilitated over $30 million in responsive grants. Before his career in philanthropy, Dominic was a journalist for more than 20 years, writing for the Duluth News-Tribune, the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Minnesota Public Radio and other media organizations.

Papatola will be filling the position of Chief Impact Officer (CIO), a new position for CommunityGiving. He will be overseeing all of the programmatic work of the organization along with supporting the partner community foundations to find new and innovative ways to create impact on a local level.

Steve Joul, President and CEO of CommunityGiving commented, “We are absolutely thrilled and honored to welcome Dominic to the CommunityGiving team. We look forward to him sharing his experience, expertise and knowledge with the foundations and communities we serve.”
