Donations Need to Be Received by December
Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today that it has received a $100,000 community challenge from the Otto Bremer Foundation. The Otto Bremer Foundation will match every dollar donated to AACF up to $75,000 by Dec. 9, 2015 and provide an additional $25,000 to further fuel Community Foundation’s operations.
“We are so thankful for our ongoing partnership with the Otto Bremer Foundation,” said Jeff Restad, chair of the Board of Directors at the Alexandria Area Community Foundation. “The first set of challenges really provided the Community Foundation with some strong footing for growth and allowed us to provide a series of Difference Maker grants in our community. We look forward to furthering our efforts to meet the unique needs of our community today and well into the future.”
The Community Foundation met Bremer’s previous matching challenges to raise $200,000 for the benefit of the local community. The Otto Bremer Foundation issued the initial community challenge in 2013 to help increase AACF’s capacity to enhance philanthropy and meet growing needs in the Alexandria community. Those challenges were part of a two-year grant from Bremer that provided AACF with an additional $140,000 to award grants to local nonprofits.
“We have seen our community step up with gifts of all sizes to meet these matches,” Restad said, “and we know together we can meet this match and infuse significant dollars into improving the Alexandria Area.”
The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) is a public charity that attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local community.
