The Chaska Community Fund (CCF) exists to bridge the past, present and the future to strengthen Chaska’s sense of community. The Chaska Community Fund was established to finance projects that may lead to significant social change in our community.

In the spirit of creating pathways and building community we need to support each other to the extent possible and that means if we have the resources, to help those who are most vulnerable and facing challenging circumstances. A chain is as strong as the weakest link and the same is true for a community. A community is only as strong as the weakest or least powerful person. The success of the community depends on the success of each individual resident and if one person fails, the community suffers. Successful people seem to always be those who find it important to contribute to their community in some capacity, either through giving their time, talent and or treasure. Ironically, giving back has been one of the ways they have become so successful. It is like a boomerang. Whatever you throw out comes back to you.

Local charitable giving not only helps support projects and community members but it also acts as an economic development tool. When money is gifted to a local community fund and then granted back out to support local projects and needs, that same money utilized to establish or support the project is usually spent locally and creates a multiplier effect – the more times a dollar circulates in a community, the faster it circulates, and the more income, wealth, and jobs that community enjoys. This is an added bonus to local philanthropy.

“It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do little – do what you can.”
– Sydney Smith

The Chaska Community Fund will continue to facilitate community discussions on our community's most urgent needs and address them on a priority basis. At this time, some of the needs include:

  • CFCC Operational Support to allow for the administration and growth of the Chaska Community Fund
  • Addressing food insecurities, homelessness and assist those facing a financial crisis
  • Closing the Opportunity Gap for underprivileged youth through opportunities in education, supportive services, and extra-curricular activities
  • Assistance with obtaining quality: education childcare, healthcare, mental health services, substance abuse treatment, elderly engagement opportunities and affordable housing
  • Community capital projects including preservation and enhancement of parks, trails and recreational areas

The Chaska Community Fund is a fund held within the Community Foundation for Carver County (CFCC). CFCC is a CommunityGiving partner foundation, seeking to link donors with the needs of our community – and beyond – by creating permanent endowments that create a lasting impact. The partnership with CommunityGiving enables the Chaska Community Fund to provide a wide variety of services to donors, their professional advisors and nonprofit organizations in the region, and share administrative costs with other local Foundations.
