Charity Challenge Match Increases to $150,000

Three Local Food Shelves to Benefit
ST. CLOUD, Minn. –The Norman C. Skalicky Foundation and the Central Minnesota Community Foundation announced today that the Charity Challenge match has been increased to $150,000, previously set at $100,000.  


“ It is  a privilege to contribute to a great cause”, said Norm Skalicky, the Chairman and CEO of Stearns Bank.

Charity Challenge matches every dollar donated to three area food shelves (now up to $150,000) this holiday season. Donations for the Charity Challenge need to be received by December 31, 2018. Contributions should be sent directly to any of the following eligible food shelves to the attention of “Food Shelf Charity Challenge:”Catholic Charities, PO Box 2390, St. Cloud, MN 56302 or online at www.ccstcloud.orgSt. Cloud Salvation Army, 400 U.S. Highway 10 S, St. Cloud, MN 56304 or online at www.salvationarmynorth.org/community/st-cloudSt. Joseph Community Food Shelf, PO Box 384, St. Joseph, MN 56374Last year the Charity Challenge raised a record setting $468,673. “The increase to $150,000 is going to be a huge benefit to our community. The food shelf needs are high, especially this time of year.  We are excited to be able to offer the additional matching dollars and are grateful to the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation for their additional support,” said Greta Stark-Kraker, Director of Donor Relations at the Central Minnesota Community Foundation.
