Three Local Food Shelves to Benefit

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Norman C. Skalicky Foundation and the Central Minnesota Community Foundation would like to announce that the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation has increased the Charity Challenge match from the original $100,000 to an unprecedented $200,000.  The dollar for dollar match continues to run until December 31, 2018.

The Charity Challenge match raises funds to support three area food shelves (up to $200,000) this holiday season. Contributions should be sent directly to any of the following eligible food shelves to the attention of “Food Shelf Charity Challenge:”

Last year the Charity Challenge raised a record setting $468,673. “It just feels great to be giving back. These are all well deserving charities,” said Norm Skalicky of the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation.

“The increase in matching dollars from the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation combined with the donations already received has the potential of creating nearly $700,000 for these three food shelves in our community provided local donors continue to support the effort.  We encourage those who have not given to take advantage of being a part of this amazing opportunity to fill our food shelves this winter,” said Caryl Turnow, Executive Director at the Central Minnesota Community Foundation.
