This event was an exciting day of learning about growing and developing community foundations. The staff of CommunityGiving (CG) has a combined 150 years of experience in this field and they, along with our outstanding keynote speakers and presenters, who facilitated educational sessions which offered the opportunity to learn from both the presenters and from other attendees.

CG Day is designed for board members, volunteers and anyone who has a passion for community based philanthropy and wants their community foundation to grow and impact their local community positively.

Bryan Clontz, PhD, CFP, CLU, ChFP

Bryan Clontz

Bryan is the founder and president of Charitable Solutions, LLC. He serves as a partner of Ekstrom Alley Clontz & Associates – a community foundation consulting firm in New Haven, CT. Bryan is also the founder of Dechomai Foundation, Inc. and Dechomai Asset Trust - two national donor advised funds focused on non-cash assets and S-corp transactions. Brian served as the director of planned giving for the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, director of planned giving for Boys & Girls Clubs of America and as VP of advancement at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta.

Bryan serves on the editorial board of the Planned Giving Design Center, the Advisory Board for the American College’s Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation. He has also served on the American Council on Gift Annuities’ Rate Recommendation and Research Committee and the National Committee on Planned Giving Board. He has been quoted by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, Bloomberg Wealth and serves as a guest columnist on charitable tax issues for Forbes

Jennifer Ford

Jen has been President of the Bush Foundation since September 2012. The Bush Foundation invests in great ideas and the people who power them in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and 23 Native Nations. The Foundation was established in 1953 by 3M executive Archibald Bush who played a key role growing 3M into one of the world’s leading companies.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Jen served as chief of staff and vice president of strategy for Minnesota Philanthropy Partners, where she led the creation of GiveMN.org, Give to the Max Day, and the Minnesota Idea Open. Jen was also a consultant with McKinsey and Company for nine years and was the first director of the Itasca Project in the Twin Cities.Jen has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago. She has been honored as a “40 Under 40” leader by the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Business Journal, as one of the “100 Minnesotans You Should Know” by Twin Cities Business Magazine, and as a NextGen Fellow by Independent Sector.

Pricing and registration

The cost of the event is $99 and is open to anyone in the non-profit field or affiliated with a community foundation. Professional Advisor Registration is also $99 and has been approved for two (2) CLE credits.

CommunityGiving and affiliate partner board members and committee members receive a complimentary registration.
