Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today the recipients of their “Difference Maker” Grants. The Alexandria Arts Association received $10,000, We Got Your Back received $9,000, Kindred Family Focus received $2,000, Veterans Memorial Park received $10,000 and the North Star Sports Complex received $7,500.
The Alexandria Arts Association will use their $10,000 grant to support the new marquee on the front of their building, and We Got Your Back will be putting their $9,000 grant towards providing protective equipment support to keep the community safe. Kindred Family Focus will use their $2,000 grant to help support foster families, and the Veterans Memorial Park will use their $10,000 grant to support the building of a park. Finally, North Star Sports Complex will be putting their $7,500 grants towards supporting the building of locker rooms.
Each year, AACF seeks to make significant grants that will be the “Difference Maker” in bringing about a lasting, positive change in the Alexandria area community. This grant focuses on areas in education, social services, health, civic, arts and culture. Eligible organizations for these grants are 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, schools or governmental entities and it must serve the residents of Douglas County.
The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local Alexandria area. Since 1992, AACF has grown to over $3.3 million in assets and awarded over $2.9 milion in grants to nonprofits.
