Dancing with Our Stars 2020 Event Update in Response to COVID-19

March 24, 2020

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Women’s Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation has made the difficult decision to hit the pause button on this year’s Women’s Fund Dancing With Our Stars event, scheduled to be held on June 15th at the College of St. Bens. We feel it is the best course of action and the most responsible decision we can make for the health and safety of everyone involved in the live dance performance, our committee members, the CMCF staff, guests and our community.

Central Minnesota Response Fund to Support COVID-19 Relief Efforts

Arts Grant Round Now Accepting Applications Through Central Minnesota Community Foundation

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF) is pleased to announce that the Central Minnesota Arts Grant round is now accepting applications for funding requests. The goal of the Central Minnesota Arts Grant is to support small to medium size arts organizations that make arts more accessible to area residents. Application deadlines for the Central Minnesota Art Grant round is May 1st.

Seeking Nominations for ATHENA Award

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Women’s Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation is seeking nominations for the ATHENA Award which is presented to a woman who has an extended history achieving excellence in her career and inspires others in the St. Cloud area. Nominations for this award will be accepted until April 30th and the recipient will be honored at the Central Minnesota Community Foundation Annual Dinner to be held on September 10th.

CMCF "Difference Maker" Grant Round Now Open

The "Difference Maker" grant round’s focus is to bring about lasting and positive changes to the Central Minnesota communities. Application deadline for the grant round is April 1st, 2020.

Dancing with Our Stars 2020 Line-Up Announced

ST. CLOUD – The fifth annual Women’s Fund Presents: Dancing with Our Stars will be held Monday, June 15, 2020 from 5-8:45 p.m. at the College of St. Benedict’s Escher Auditorium. This year’s event will once again feature a dance competition between six local celebrities who have been paired with a professional partner for a chance to win up to a $15,000 grant for the non-profit program of their choice.

$20,000 Awarded to Local Programming through Central Minnesota Special Needs Fund

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF) announced today that $20,000 will be awarded to two local organizations from the recent grant round of the Central Minnesota Special Needs Fund. The Central Minnesota Special Needs Fund's purpose is to support organizations that will serve those with complex intellectual and physical disabilities. This is the first year that this grant round has been open.

Nine Organizations Awarded Grants From the Bernick Family Foundation

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Bernick Family Foundation announced today that $150,000 in grants was awarded to organizations and projects within their two key focus areas of youth and education & health and fitness. Eligible organizations were required to be a 501(c)3 organization, school or governmental entity and serve one of the seven regions that Bernick's services.

Charity Challenge Raises $568,622 for Food Shelves

Local Programs Supporting Women and Girls Receive $92,500 in Grant Funding

In August, they launched their 2019-2020 Central Minnesota Women’s Fund and Julianne Williams Fund grant rounds.
