St. Cloud, Minn. – Six nonprofits in Central Minnesota were awarded rural poverty grants. These grants were provided through the Rural Poverty Fund, managed by the Central Minnesota Community Foundation in partnership with the Initiative Foundation.

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF) announced today the Central Minnesota Special Needs Fund will begin accepting grant applications on September 1, 2020. The Central Minnesota Special Needs grants will support programming that serves those with complex intellectual and physical disabilities. Application deadline for this grant round is October 28, 2020.

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF) announced two grant rounds are now accepting grant applications to benefit women and young girls in the community. The first grant opportunity is from the Women’s Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation. The Women’s Fund provides funding to projects and programs that focus on the following three areas: girls ages 10-18, women in transition and elder women.

St. Cloud, Minn. – The former Greater St. Cloud Community Pillars Initiative announced today that it is transitioning to the Central Minnesota Communities of Excellence (CMCOE). CMCOE is an initiative to drive alignment of community organizations in the six communities of Central Minnesota (St. Cloud, Sartell, Waite Park, St. Augusta, St. Joseph and Sauk Rapids) by focusing attention and resources on structural problems and opportunities in the region. The end goal will be to create a vibrant, thriving, diverse, and sustainable community that attracts people to live, work and play.

The Bernick Family Foundation supports two key focus areas through their grant round; youth and education which includes activities to help prepare students for future success in education and the workplace, and health and fitness which includes activities that encourage active lifestyles and well-being. St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that they, in partnership with CommunityGiving, have recently approved the "Commitment to Our Community" resolution. The "Commitment to Our Community" resolution was a collaborative effort between CommunityGiving and its partner foundations' boards of directors and will be used as an organization-wide guiding principle as the situation continues to evolve with the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery.

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF) is pleased to announce that they, in partnership with CommunityGiving, have recently received a grant of $57,100 through the Minnesota Disaster Recovery Fund (MDRF) for coronavirus relief. This funding, along with contributions to the Central Minnesota Response Fund, will be used to support local relief efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic which will include wide-scale initiatives to help meet critical basic needs as well as sustaining local organizations providing critical services through recovery. The Central Minnesota Response Fund has $150,000 available as of March 31.

St. Cloud, Minnesota — The Central Minnesota Community Foundation and the Initiative Foundation jointly announced today that they are now accepting grant applications for the the 2020 Rural Poverty Grant Round. The two foundations, in partnership, have made $20,000 available to grant to area nonprofits, schools and government agencies who are working to develop solutions and implement programs that alleviate poverty in rural areas. The deadline to submit online applications is midnight on June 30, 2020.
