Charity Challenge Begins, $100K Match Offered

November 22, 2021

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The 21st annual Charity Challenge kicks off today! The Norman C. Skalicky Foundation in-partnership with the Central Minnesota Community Foundation will host the Charity Challenge. The Skalicky Foundation is once again offering up to a $100,000 match for every dollar donated to three area food shelves this holiday season.

New Members Join CMCF Board of Directors

St. Cloud, Minn. – Two new members have joined the Central Minnesota Community Foundation’s Board of Directors. Clare Richards and Scott Warzecha will each serve a three-year term on the board, beginning November 2021.

New Peacock Enclosure to Enhance St. Cloud Gardens

St. Cloud, Minn. – Central Minnesota’s iconic gardens along the Mississippi River are getting a major enhancement, with a striking peacock enclosure to enrich St. Cloud’s most scenic area.

Central Minnesota Special Needs Grant Round Opening

August 30, 2021

St. Cloud, Minn. – A grant round that helps support those with special needs will be opening next month. The Central Minnesota Special Needs Fund will begin accepting grant applications on September 1, 2021. Grants made through this round support programming that serves those with complex intellectual and physical disabilities. The grant application deadline for the Central Minnesota Special Needs grant is October 31, 2021.

CMCF Names Carrie Abfalter Director of Donor Relations

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF) has a new Director of Donor Relations. Carrie Abfalter will begin in her new role with the foundation in September. Carrie has been a long-time Central Minnesota community member and says she’s excited to take on a role that will further her involvement.

85 Students Receive Scholarships from Central Minnesota Community Foundation

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation, in conjunction with CommunityGiving, has awarded $175,250 in academic scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year to 85 students from the upper Midwest.

The Central Minnesota Community Foundation Announces Awards in Philanthropy Recipients

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF) is pleased to announce the recipients of this year's Awards in Philanthropy. Debra Leigh will be receiving the ATHENA Award, Melinda Gau will be receiving the Professional Award in Philanthropy and Dennis and Barb Gregory will be receiving the Alex Didier Award in Philanthropy. The CMCF Annual Celebration in Philanthropy Social will take place on Thursday, September 9 from 4:30-7:00pm at the Park Event Center in Waite Park. CMCF Women's Fund Opens Annual Grant Round

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Women’s Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation is now accepting applications for its two annual grant rounds. The Central Minnesota Women’s Fund Grant as well as the Julianne Williams Fund Grant rounds will be open through September 30, 2021.

$129,000 Granted to Local Organizations Through Central MN Arts, Difference Maker and Ritsche Youth Grant Rounds

St. Cloud, Minn. – A total of $129,400 has been granted out through three competitive grant rounds offered through the Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF). The Central Minnesota Arts, Central Minnesota Difference Maker and Thomas Ritsche Youth Grant Round have awarded a total of 15 grants to local organizations.

Bernick Family Foundation Seeks to Grant $150K
