AACF Now Accepting Grant Applications for Difference Maker Grants

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today that their “Difference Maker” grant round is now accepting applications for programs that serve people in Douglas County. The AACF seeks to make significant grants that will be the “Difference Maker” in bringing about lasting, positive change in the Alexandria area community. Grant application deadline is June 30th.

Starke and Wosepka to be Honored by Alexandria Area Commmunity Foundation

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) would like to cordially invite the community to join their annual celebration of philanthropy on Monday, May 7. The celebration will take place at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center from 5:00-7:30pm. The highlight of the event this year will be the presentation of the "Ruth McDonald Award in Philanthropy" to Frank Starke and John Wosepka.

Alexandria Area Community Foundation to Celebrate 25th Anniversary

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) would like to cordially invite the community to join the celebration of their 25th anniversary on Monday, May 8th. The celebration will take place at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center from 5-8pm. The celebration will reflect on the past 25 years of philanthropy in the community as well as present two awards to local individuals who have supported the foundation.

Kathy Pfeffer Named Executive Director of Alexandria Area Community Foundation

Pfeffer comes to the AACF with 20 years of experience as the previous Executive Director of the Alexandria Technical & Community College (ATCC) Foundation. She began her career as an educator where she taught K-12 and some college courses and then transitioned into sales. Pfeffer joined the team at ATCC and under her leadership increased the Foundation’s net worth from $900,000 to over $20 million.Alexandria, Minn. – The Board of Directors of the Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) and CommunityGiving are pleased to announce the hiring of Kathy Pfeffer as the first Executive Director of the Alexandria Foundation.

AACF Approves Elections of Board of Directors for 2016-2017

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today approval of the election of Ben Miller to a first term of three years, Bruce Pohlig and Loren Liesemeyer to a second term of three years and Jeff Restad and Dave Vagle to a third term of three years to the Alexandria Area Community Foundation Board of Directors.

Community Foundation to Award Difference Maker Grants

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) is reminding area nonprofits serving people in the Douglas County region that the Difference Maker Grant deadline is fast approaching. Grant applications are due on Tuesday, June 30th at midnight. Grant applications should be significant grants that will be the “difference maker” in bringing about a lasting, positive change in the Alexandria area community. AACF plans to award grants between $15,000 and $30,000. Local nonprofit organizations need to submit their applications online by June 30.

AACF Announces "Difference Maker" Grant Recipients

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation announced the recipients of the 2015 Difference Maker Grants on Monday August 24th, 2015. The Runestone Museum Foundation will be granted $10,000 and the Alexandria Senior Center will be granted $20,000. The Runestone Museum Foundation has been granted a $10,000 matching grant to help with the restoration of Big Ole, the “icon” of the Alexandria and Douglas County. The project will include fully repainting the statue. The Alexandria Senior Center has been granted $20,000 to expand the nutrition services program to accommodate the increasing number of aging and vulnerable residents in Douglas County. The project will include finishing the kitchen upgrades for energy efficiency, food storage, air quality improvements and add additional service routes with volunteer drivers.

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) is announcing to area nonprofits in the Douglas County region that a grant application period begins on Friday, May 1st. Grant applications should be significant grants that will be the “difference maker” in bringing about a lasting, positive change in the Alexandria area community. Thanks in large part to a grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation and raising local support, AACF plans to award grants between $10,000 and $30,000. Local nonprofit organizations need to submit their applications online by midnight on June 30.
