Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today that $12,189 has been awarded to local programs through the Ruth McDonald Fund grant round. The Ruth McDonald Fund grant round supports health and wellness programming in the Alexandria area, especially for the health needs of people in poverty.

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today the most recent grant recipients from the Alexandria Response Fund to support local COVID-19 relief efforts. The Alexandria Response Fund has awarded an additional $30,000 in grant funding. In total, the Alexandria Response Fund has granted $70,000 for local COVID-19 relief efforts.

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that they, in partnership with CommunityGiving, have recently approved the "Commitment to Our Community" resolution. The "Commitment to Our Community" resolution was a collaborative effort between CommunityGiving and its partner foundations' boards of directors and will be used as an organization-wide guiding principle as the situation continues to evolve with the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery.

This funding, along with contributions to the Alexandria Response Fund, will be used to support local relief efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic which will include wide-scale initiatives to help meet critical basic needs as well as sustaining local organizations providing critical services through recovery.

While the Alexandria Response Fund will continue to support those impacted by the downtown fire, the fund will now also be directed to the COVID-19 pandemic in our local community. Alexandria, Minn. – After Tuesday's devastating fire, your Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) has established a long term disaster relief fund called the Alexandria Response Fund. Gifts via credit card can be directed to the fund at http://www.communitygiving.org/donate/alexandria-response-fund . Checks can be sent to AACF c/o CommunityGiving 101 7th Ave S., Suite 100 Saint Cloud, MN 56301. Please specify Alexandria Response Fund on the memo line. Gifts made to the fund will initially be focused on assisting people impacted by the recent fire in downtown Alexandria. The fund will also be available in the future to assist with other potential disasters or catastrophic events. AACF will work with local agencies, such as West Central Communities Action, to disseminate charitable funds and assist those affected via these partnerships.
