Four New Members Elected to AACF Board of Directors

Alexandria, Minn. –The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today the election of four new members to the AACF Board of Directors. Mary Jane Reif, Nick Heydt, Derek Holt and Linda Akenson have all been elected to serve an initial three year term.

Local Foundation Now Accepting Grant Applications

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) is now accepting grant applications for two grant rounds. The "Difference Maker" grant round seeks to support community initiatives through a variety of grants. Programs funded will bring about positive change in the Alexandria area community. The Ruth McDonald Fund grant round supports health and wellness in the Alexandria area - especially for the health needs of people in poverty. Both grant application deadlines are June 30th.

Bursch and LeBrasseur Honored by Alexandria Area Commmunity Foundation

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) honored Fred Bursch and Kathyrn LeBrasseur with the "Ruth McDonald Award in Philanthropy" on Monday, May 6 at their Annual Dinner. The celebration of community and philanthropy was held at the Arrowwod Resort, Hotel and Conference Center with over 325 people in attendance.

Alexandria Area Community Foundation Announces Recipients of "Difference Maker" Grants

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today the recipients of their "Difference Maker" Grants. The Alexandria Arts Association received $10,000, We Got Your Back received $9,000, Kindred Family Focus received $2,000, Veterans Memorial Park received $10,000 and the North Star Sports Complex received $7,500.

Ruth McDonald Fund Announces Grant Recipients for Health and Wellness Programming

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) is pleased to announce the recipients of the Ruth McDonald Fund Grants. The Central Minnesota Elder Network received $5,000 to support companion visiting programs, and The Written Gift received $5,000 to support advanced care planning.

Local Student Awarded $1,000 through the Alexandria Area Community Foundation

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF), in conjunction with CommunityGiving, is pleased to announce the recipient of the Thomas Reif Memorial Scholarship Fund for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. Lindsey Knoll of Alexandria, MN will be receiving $1,000 from the fund to continue her education at University of North Dakota.

Catherine Stine Elected to AACF Board of Directors

Stine is principal of The Stine Group, a consultancy whose mission is “to establish environments where people to do their best work". The Stine Group assists organizations in strategic plans, business development and grants development.
