Carver County, Minn. – The Community Foundation for Carver County (CFCC) has awarded $10,000 to three local organizations through its recent “Difference Maker” grant round.
This grant round aimed to support community initiatives that will bring about positive change in Carver County. The three programs that were funded are as follows:
- $5,000 to support the expansion of the Watertown food shelf through the Waconia United Food Shelf (Gather and Grow).
- $2,500 to support the myHealth On-Call Traveling Nurse program which provides health care to low-income young people and families through myHealth for Teens & Young Adults.
- $2,500 to support the youth development programming done by Mi C.A.S.A. which promotes leadership and racial equity for Latino youth in Carver County.
“We are excited to award these grants to local nonprofits making a significant impact in our community,” stated Khai Tran, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for Carver County. “In our inaugural grant round, we received over $100,000 in requests by 23 nonprofits but only had funding to grant $10,000. With your support, we can make an even bigger difference next year. Join us in helping to strengthen and enrich our community.”
