The local volunteer initiative ignites the passion of Central Minnesotans to volunteer within their community.  A growing number of community partners are working together to promote volunteering in new ways and to bring together people of all ages, cultures and walks of life to volunteer side by side. 

The initiative strives to increase the level of volunteerism in our community and enhance volunteer experiences by connecting volunteers with nonprofits that need help. 

In addition to promoting local volunteerism, the initiative also organizes local volunteer trips in response to disasters outside of our region. Many trips have been taken by local volunteers to help communities hit by tornadoes, flooding, and hurricanes.  These types of disasters will undoubtedly happen again, and this initiative will help make future trips possible.
