Call for Nominations - Women Making Waves 2012

Brainerd Lakes Area Women’s Fund to Honor Local Woman

BRAINERD -- The Brainerd Lakes Area Women’s Fund is pleased to announce the Women Making Waves Award which honors women leaders. We are pleased to sponsor this recognition of women in our community who have excelled in a variety of working environments and in doing so have improved conditions for themselves and others in our local community.

The award will be presented at the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation Annual Dinner which is held in July and features the annual Award in Philanthropy. The award winner will also be recognized at the Women’s Fund Annual Fundraiser this Fall.

Last year, our first honoree was Sue Hadland. Sue is a nurse practitioner at the Women’s Health Clinic at Essentia – Baxter. Sue has been active with several community groups including the YMCA, Ski Gull, Soup Kitchen and the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Sue received an honorarium of $1,000 to be donated to the nonprofit of her choice from the Brainerd Lakes Community Foundation and the Women’s Fund. Sue gifted it back to the Brainerd Lakes Area Women’s Fund. Sue is perfect example of women doing extraordinary work in our local community. If you know someone who you would like to see recognized for their work in our community, please consider nominating them for this award.

Nominations are due by April 9, 2012. Download the Nomination Form.
