Harlan and Jeri Palm are true American success stories: From humble beginnings, they used their ingenuity, tenacity and work ethic to create several successful businesses inCentral Minnesota.
Through the years, the Palms’ entrepreneurship produced many well-paying jobs in the community and helped other families create better lives for themselves. In turn, the skills of the community contributed to the family’s success.
This success motivated the Palms to give back to the area. Working with the Central Minnesota Community Foundation, they created a fund to help high school graduates complete a post-secondary education in the traditional trade industries. The couple hopes to help the next generation become the skilled labor force that area businesses need to remain competitive.
The desire to give back to the community was instilled in the Palms long before they achieved business success.
“My mother was always thinking of others,” said Harlan. “She always said, ‘We’re put on this earth to make it better than when we came.’ If we all tried to live by that, we’d have a better country today.America’s been good to me, and I want it to be good for those who come after us.”
